The future does not arrive. It accumulates.

STILL is an immersive performance examining how individual choices shape collective reality.

Created for the Open House of the German Bundestag, the work explores freedom not simply as a right, but as an ongoing responsibility. It asks what happens when people choose to act, hesitate, remain silent, or simply watch.

The performance unfolds through a sequence of minimal physical actions that gradually transform a shared environment. Water, black pigment, human bodies, and a white surface become living metaphors for consequence. Nothing changes instantly. Every gesture accumulates. Every delay leaves a trace.

Rather than searching for someone to blame, STILL reflects on how societies are shaped through countless individual choices — made, postponed, or left undone.

The performance proposes that freedom is never passive. It exists only through participation, responsibility, and the willingness to respond.

Concept

Freedom is responsibility.
Personal.
Collective.

Inaction is also action.
Every decision leaves a trace.

The future does not arrive.
It accumulates.
From what we choose to do.
And from what we leave undone.

In STILL, transformation begins almost invisibly.
A single gesture changes the water.
No one responds.
The colour spreads.
Across hands.
Across bodies.
Across space.

Not because someone forces it to happen,
but because no one interrupts the process.

The performance does not seek answers.
It asks a single question:
At what moment does responsibility become ours?
